Custom Wedding Bouquets
After being a wedding specialist, florist for over 30 years, I was so excited to find real touch flowers a few years ago. As a fresh flower florist, we all seem to look at silk flowers as inferior and out of date, but this new trend of making flowers look and feel real is sweeping the country by storm and the brides of today want more for their money, (a keepsake).
being a florist that works with fresh flowers I am extremely picky about the flowers I use while designing with silks. If they are not botanically accurate, I cannot see myself using them. Although many brides like the roundy moundy style bouquet, I love the fresh picked garden look with lots of different sizes and shapes. I love bouquets that compliment the brides colors rather than blending in with her colors.
If you are going to spend good money on a high end real touch flower, don’t ruin them by dyeing them an unnatural color. If you pick flowers that are already that color in nature it will look so much more realistic.
Autumn Bliss :: Melanie and Ted:: Melanie's bouquet was the perfect mix of fall flowers for her October wedding. Her bouquet consisted of real touch orange roses, real touch red roses, real touch orange calla lilies, real touch hypericum berries, dark orange ranunculus, orange amaryllis and yellow daisies wrapped with green ribbon and accented by a grape vine. Ted's boutineer was a real touch orange calla lily with a tuft of real touch hypericum berry, real touch bear grass and a real touch ivy leaf wrapped with a matching green ribbon.
Green Serene :: Ana Sofia and Eric Ana's bouquet was a classic white rose bouquet with green button mums. Her bouquet consisted of real touch white roses and green button mums with pearl head pins inserted into the centers of the mums. Her bouquet was wrapped in black satin with a pearl button-up accent. Her flower girls had green button mum lollie pops accented with pearl head pins and green button mum kissing balls with a tuft of white real touch roses on top. Eric's boutineer was a white real touch rose bud with a button mum highlight, wrapped with white and black ribbon to match the bride.
Bohemian Beach ::Jamie and Aaron's Wedding Flowers:: This Beautiful Bohemian Beach Bouquet, Flower Crown and Boutonniere Below are heading to Sydney Australia. Jamie, getting married on the beach wanted a Bohemian Beach feel to her bouquet. She liked the one I did for Janie Dotson's Wedding last July, but wanted bolder colors, and a flower crown to match. She especially wanted many different shapes of flowers accented by succulents, but what she didn't want in her bouquet, was roses. I just had to sneak in one, beautiful orange garden rose in it though as it was just too beautiful to leave out. Jamie's bouquet is wrapped in burlap with a grapevine overlay to keep with her theme.
Vineyard Wildflowers :: Heather & Cory's Wedding Flowers :: The day Heather came to my house to see my silks, was super fun!!! She fell in love with all the flowers in my shop, and was like a kid in a candy store. If she had her way, she would have taken all the flowers I had on hand home with her that day. She played for hours going from one flower to the next getting more and more excited with every bloom. When she was done, she picked out the perfect wildflowers that matched her pinterest board almost to the tee!!!!
Summer Garden :: Thaylia & Patrick's Wedding Flowers :: Thaylia had many bouquet inspirations that she had sent me, but on the day I uploaded the flower photos from my own daughter's Wedding that I had done in fresh, http://www.justinmarantz.com/index.cfm?q=hopkins she was hooked!!!!
Thaylia's colors are light pink and lavender so the pale colors of this bouquet are a perfect compliment.
Raspberry Garden :: Kami and Shane's Wedding Flowers :: Kami, was a bridesmaid in her sisters Kayla wedding on July 26. I did the flowers for Kayla and when her sister saw them, she knew she also had to go with a real touch wedding bouquet.
She didn't have much time to plan this since she was only getting married 91 days from her sister.
She called me and gave me less than 30 days to plan her wedding which was right in the middle of my own daughter's wedding, but how could I refuse doing sisters, back to back. Thankfully, I had plenty of amazing flowers on hand that were perfect for Kami's bouquets. Her colors were Sangria from David's Bridal and she wanted a monochromatic bouquet to match.
Victorian Treasures :: Janie & Ryan :: Janie and Ryan are one of my Tennessee Couples. Janie's Inspiration was a Victorian Pastel Bouquet that had Accents of Blue Brooches. I recreated her vision using High End Silk Flowers and Real Touch Silk Flowers.
Lilac & Lilies :: Karmen's Reproduction :: Karmen's Wedding Bouquet Reproduction. I Love this bouquet!!! It will be hard to say Good Bye. This Bouquet has Real Touch Casablanca Lilies, Real Touch Roses, Real Touch Picasso Calla Lilies and Alstroemeria.
Orange & Purple :: Kayla and Allen's Wedding Flowers :: Kayla, my Illinois Bride Wanted to spice up her purple bridesmaids dresses with something very bright and colorful!!! She choose an inspiration bouquet using oranges and purples which sometimes looks muddy, but her vision was amazing and the bouquets turned beautiful!!!!!!!!!
Kayla's bouquet is adorned with beautiful real touch white roses, real touch Picasso calla lilies, purple dendrobium orchids, light purple & dark purple hydrangeas, Purple lisianthus, orange alstroemeria and green berries wrapped in green ribbon with a beautiful rhinestone brooch.
Plums & Purples :: Andrea's Wedding Flowers :: Today is Andreas Wedding, June 27th 2014. I was so Happy to be able to deliver this to her in person as I don't get many brides from my own state. Andrea wanted Plums, purples and lavender flowers to bring out her colors of Royal Bloom Lavender and Pistachio Green. Andrea's bouquets were made with White real touch roses, lavender real touch roses, lavender lisianthus, purple and white Hydrangea, cranberry ranunculus, purple dendrobium orchids and green berries.
Island Treasure :: Ali's Wedding Flowers :: So EXCITED!!! I just heard from my bride Ali who is getting married in December. She is having a Destination Wedding in Jamaica on Christmas and she was so torn on what she wanted in her tropical bouquet, but knew she wanted Hibiscus as it was the flower of Jamaica.
After many attempts to find an inspiration bouquet, she finally left it up to me to pick and use whatever flowers and colors I thought would look best as a tropical bouquet. I like to surprise all my brides with a special little gift from me to celebrate their wedding, that they were not expecting, so I added a real starfish in the center of her bouquet surrounded by a small Rhinestone Brooch (Such an Island Touch)
Purple Passion :: Jenae' and Alvin's Wedding Flowers :: So EXCITED!!! Jenae' was my very first Tennessee Bride. It's been almost a year since she found me and from the very first day I replied back to her, I felt as if she was my own daughter. From the beginning, we have been keeping in touch weekly and sometimes daily.
Jenae' and my daughter Heather are getting married a day apart from each other and it has been so rewarding knowing we were planning weddings together. I tell her that if Heather wasn't getting married the same weekend I would have crashed her wedding.
Nashville was a place I have always wanted to visit as I have a another daughter Emily, who is a Country Singer/Songwriter. When I finally visited Nashville two years ago, I felt like I was meant to be there from the very Beginning. My excitement as we drove down from Connecticut turned to tears as we crossed the Tennessee Border. The beauty of the rolling hills consumed me as each mile was prettier than the next.
50 Shades of Purple :: Katie and Chris's Wedding Flowers :: I had been working with Katie for several weeks looking for the perfect bouquet that she had always imagined. One day I uploaded a wedding for one of my brides, Jenae' and within minutes I received an email from Katie saying that I had just posted the PERFECT BOUQUET!!!! All she needed that would be different would to have the pink removed and add extra purple instead. The handmade Cockscomb in Jenaes' bouquet was replaced by purple roses and light purple rose buds in Katie Bouquet.
Lilie's Delight :: Samantha and Jason's Wedding Flowers ::
Amazing what the camera can see, that the eye cannot!! I fussed with Samantha's bouquets for hours to get the perfect shots and taking photos is not my favorite part of the job.
I was starting to lose light and was pretty sure that I had enough beautiful angles to wrap up my photo session and head back in to upload to facebook.
The second the first photo appeared on my computer I noticed I had forgotten to take the leaf out of the point flower which marks the front of the brides bouquet. I put the leaf in the flower to make sure when wrapping the bouquet, I would know where to end the ribbon. I cannot believe how many times I moved that bouquet and never saw it, but how easy it was to see in photos.
Raspberry, Lemon Sherbet ::Janalee and David's Wedding Flowers:: Janalee had picked out many bouquet inspirations but had a hard time making her decision. All she knew for sure, was that she wanted orchids.
When picking out the Blue suit that David would wear on their Beach Themed Wedding, she came across this amazing Raspberry and Lemon colored Orchid Bouquet. She knew then, that this was the bouquet meant for her.
This bouquet has 3 different kinds of Orchids, Roses and Peonies with a wild flair.
